is india pet friendly???
this is a question i ask myself all the time., being a total pet lover...u look at the US and other european countries...every household has atleast one pet...there are not just pet doctors(vets)...but salons and restaurants and resorts catering to pets. while in our country there are apartments which deny access to people owning pets!! there was a recent rule saying people cannot be denied access into an apartment if they have pets!! hurray! a major victory....

Wait for another 5 years and chk out! ;).. And do update the blog by then as of how we the INDIANS treat it now...? ;)
yup...but its a question of attitude...all in the mind...as long as people treat animals as an out caste species...things can never change...first indians have to change their mindset dear

GO AKKA ! Finally U get A blog ! I can see alot of interesting topics coming up ! Finally someone to share topics with ! Ok im not from India so i cant say anything but to me i feel , If people want to make a change it will happen.. Here almost every house has a dog or a cat.. And i also feel the purpose of keeping the pet is important if people are gonna use their dogs to attack visitors and scare off neighbours then wat's the use ?..

true... but even look at the pets that ppl have in india... they dont have shiny coats... they are thin and as weak as anything... tht itself shows the attitude of indians towards pets...

Very true..I had to fight hard to bring my dog to my apartment..As long as i take care of his access to the other part of building it's fine and perfect...
Recently there was an Ad coming up on NDTV, which asks viewers to adopt "Indian" dogs, showing month old pups and saying that they would die if they are not adopted soon. they also flash a toll-free number, which i dont remember rght now. but anybody interested in adopting a desi dog, must watch NDTV for the Ad. atleast i am going to try out.

hey akka.......as such India is not a pet friendly country.........but as u said..it s d attitude wat matters....if u r sum problems in taking care of ur pet.......its a qn on d 'right to liberty'....but all dogs are dogs...if its d case..its a g8 thing to hav a pet....
you are correct. Am wondering when this will change in India. I am an animal lover and a dog fanatic. I have a pet in my flat. Initially so many of the flat dwellers opposed but I could not care much. As it is my own flat I had asked them to shut up and bought my lab home :)

the pets which also comes in the catagory called Animals mainly can eat anything sleep anywhere and somehow can go oon with their life effortlessly.but not not ur fellow humans.do u know how many thousands sell their kids for few thousands and some times just few hundred every day in this stupid country?
